Digging the flower bed on 3/19
Adding dirt and compost
Neighbors dug a flower bed in front of historic Engine Co. 19 at Pennsylvania Ave. and 28th Pl., S.E. on March 19, 2000. The project is part of a larger effort to improve the appearance of the firehouse. Participating in the digging project are Lillian Chatmon, Roscoe Grant, Kathy Chamberlain, Bob Bush, Bessie Pappas, Abdul Ali, Gloria and Dennis Logan, several firefighters, and neighborhood children. Flowers will be planted in late April. All are invited to participate. Check this page over the next few months as the garden takes shape.
