| 13th Annual Hillcrest Garden Tour June 17, 2006 |
|
Over 100 people attended this year's garden tour in which 15 gardens were featured. The focus of the tour was "curb appeal". Following the tour, guests enjoyed a light lunch and art exhibit in the back yard of Mary and Phillip Hammond's beautiful home.
Pre-Tour Preparations
The garden tour committee did a "curb appeal" demonstration project at the home of Curtis Robinson, a Tuskeegee Airman who lives in Hillcrest. First, two overgrown shrubs were removed, then handrails and a new lamp were installed, courtesy of neighbors George and Faye Norfleet, then two new garden beds of perennials were planted. Pictured in the far right photo are Mr. Robinson, Marvin Bowser, Kathy Chamberlain, Carin and Rob Bigrigg, and Curtis Robinson, Jr.
