On September 18, 2004, HCCA celebrated 15 years of civic pride at the Washington Navy Yard Conference and Catering Center with a luncheon, dancing, and good jazz music. A fun time was had by all who attended. Mark Johnson served as Chairman of the Anniversary Committee and also as Master of Ceremonies for the afternoon. The anniversary committee did a great job in putting together a program that reflected on our past achievements as a community organization. During the program, Ms. Belva Simmons was recognized as the HCCA founder and its first president. Pastor Franklin Senger, Gloria Logan, Dennis Logan, and John Hawkins were recognized for having served as Officers and Board members during the entire duration of the life of HCCA and continue to serve.
