Lavell Merritt, Park Ranger, National Park Service, led a trail hike through Fort Circle Park, from 28th St SE to Park Dr. SE., identifying various plants, trees, and natural formations, and discussing environmental threats to the ecosystem. About 30 people joined the hike which was arranged by Mary Hammond of the Hillcrest Community Civic Association's Environmental Committee.
