THE HILLCREST HEARTBEAT
September 2022

A Message from the HCCA Leadership

Falling Into The New Normal
By Villareal “VJ” Johnson

Summer officially ends on September 22, and autumn begins. We hope everyone has enjoyed this post-COVID summer with some travel, despite high gas prices, which are fortunately now on the decline. Whether you went to the Vineyard or Outer Banks, South Beach or the South of France, it has been a summer to be fully and wholly “outside.”

Some of us are back to working in the office. Children are back in school locally or away. The Centers for Disease Control has relaxed many of its pandemic restrictions. For some, this means we can mix and mingle with one another again. For others, this means more time to enjoy downtime and pick up new activities.

For the Hillcrest Community Civic Association (HCCA), it means we are once again being more intentional in planning engaging activities for our members and neighbors.

Important Changes to the HCCA By-Laws

In August, the By-Laws Committee made its submission, which included recommended changes. In accordance with the current by-laws, Article X, states the HCCA will present the changes at the September membership meeting. The membership will have the opportunity to vote on any changes in October. This should enable the HCCA to conduct its election in November in a timely manner.

Please take a moment to review the brief summary of the changes by article. View the current By-Laws with edits.

Legend: Deletions are in red and yellow highlighted areas are additions or changes.
